THE HISTORY AND MEANING OF THE LESBIAN SYMBOL

The lesbian symbol’s background is relatively new , emerging in response to the dominance of the rainbow emblem within the broader LGBTQ+ movement . Initially, designers felt that the rainbow standard didn't adequately represent lesbian experiences and identities. In 1999, Denise Lyon developed a
